Win 7 Installed, questions

#1 Post by CHood » Sat Nov 07, 2009 3:22 pm

I just installed Win 7 Pro 64 on my x301.

thinkvantage button does nothing now but should I really care?
I reinstalled the driver but still does nothing.

I am thinking about dumping access connections. Do I really need it now? I only have a 128 WEP for home and school is open wireless.

Where the heck did pass word manager go? not available anymore?

As soon as you installed Windows 7 you blew away the Master boot record that the recovery partition relies on to function. It is not a concern unless you did not create recovery CD's before you installed Windows 7. This would also explain the non-functioning Thinkvantage button on boot. What is 'pass word manager' ?

possible I called it the wrong thing. Basically what I want is the prompt when I enter a pass word for the computer to remember it and have the ability to use fingerprint instead of type it.

I dumped access connections after moving to W7 on my T61p. Don't miss it a bit.

Windows 7 has native support for fingerprint readers. Type "Biometric" in the START search box and follow the dialog boxes to register fingerprints.
