SSD Password Problems

#1 Post by JPOESQ » Mon Nov 09, 2009 11:30 pm

Has anyone tried to turn on the password with a SSD? We tried it with a Crucial SSD and the drive bricked. When we went into the bios to remove the password, the option was grayed out.

Have one installed on an X22 with a Transcend TS16GSSD25-S (16GB) drive. Works just like on a regular magnetic hard drive.

Had a similar problem with an X61s. For some reason could not remove password after enabling it. The option was greyed out in BIOS. Updating to latest BIOS fixed that bug. Make sure your machine is up to date.
