Which A31 fan?

#1 Post by Harryc » Tue Nov 10, 2009 6:51 am

I am upgrading the CPU in a stock A31 with a 1.6ghz CPU to a 2.0Ghz Pentium 4 M. Do I need the better A31/P fan to run this CPU at decent temps? From the A31 parts manual, the better fan looks to be part # 62P4092.

I can confirm, that is the correct part number. It's even a bit quieter than the standard one. I use TPFancontrol and never see temps above 49 C on my 2.4 GHZ machine and that's only on streaming video otherwise, it stays at around 33 to 37C

Yep, that is the correct FRU for the fan you need.
