Remove fan from R52

#1 Post by jjmclean » Wed Nov 11, 2009 7:28 pm

Got a R52 and I'm trying to get the fan out. I've got the keyboard off and the screws and the little strap on the right side removed from the fan but there where the strap goes, it will not release and I'm afraid to apply too much pressure. What's the proper procedure to remove the fan?

If this is the long fan and it is stuck on the GPU, you just have to grab top and bottom with your finger tips and squeeze.

The R5x fan won't come off unless you remove the palmrest too.
