Replacement Keyboard for T42P 14"

#1 Post by T42p » Wed Feb 16, 2005 8:07 pm

I want to buy a replacement keyboard for my T42P.

I narrowed the search down to this site: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.ws ... lang=de+en

But there they have to different part numbers for the german keyboard:

08K5048
13N9835

The first one is named NMB, the second one CHICONY

Can you please tell me what the difference is? I don't want to order the wrong keyboard.

Thanks!

They will both have the same keyboard layout, so you can't really order the "wrong" one. NMB one is made in Thailand, and the CHICONY is made in China...

It is the general consensus around here that the NMB one has a much better build quality and feel than the China one. I would personally agree with that, having had both of them. There are plenty of posts about it, just search for "Keyboard Thai", or "Keyboard Chinese".

Ok, thanks a lot. I really appreciate your help. I already imagined that these are the chinese and thai keyboards, but I didn't know which is the one made in Thailand.

Thanks again
