Shipping ThinkPad display panels

#1 Post by ThinkRob » Sat Nov 21, 2009 9:51 am

Hi,

Does anyone have any tips on shipping ThinkPad displays safely?

I might be able to salvage some panels from a couple of dead ThinkPads, and I'd like to sell them online (via eBay, Craigslist, etc.) I've never shipped an LCD before, so I'm interested to hear experiences/advice from people who have done so (either successfully or unsuccessfully ;) ).

Thanks!

I prefer to sell the whole lid, whenever possible...then it's just soft paper on the screen side and regular wrapping...lots of it.

If you ship the bare screen, anti-static bag is a must, then a thin layer of styrofoam on each side, and then a TON of bubble wrap.

Hope this helps.
