I have Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on my X61 Tablet.
I just installed Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit on my sister's X60 Tablet. Already applied all the Windows Update, then the Lenovo System Update. All seems well.
The volume OSD on the X61T shows up as one long empty horizontal bar that fills up from left to right as the volume is increased. There is also a digit on the right end of the bar indicating the volume level as well.
However, the volume OSD on the X60T is a series of empty small vertical bars lined up horizontally from left to right, each bar fills up as volume is increased. This is identical to the screen brightness OSD.
Why is there a difference between the volume OSDs. Is it because of the OS, the thinkpad? Anyone else notice this too?

Re: Volume OSD on X60 Tablet vs X61 Tablet
It's the version of Hotkey driver in use on the two machines. They work exactly as you describe. The one for Win 7 OSD is newer.

But their both Windows 7, except mine is 64-bit. Is that the reason for the difference?

Re: Volume OSD on X60 Tablet vs X61 Tablet
Sorry; you did say Win 7. For some reason I read your post as installing Vista on one machine, Win 7 on the other. Have you installed the same version of the Hotkey Driver and the System Interface Driver on both PCs?
If you have, perhaps the Hotkey driver just works differently on different hardware.

Re: Volume OSD on X60 Tablet vs X61 Tablet
Hotkey driver and System Interface driver versions are identical on both machines.
The only difference I found was that I had had an older version of Hotkey driver on the 64-bit machine which was later upgraded to newest version. So I uninstalled Hotkey driver and reinstalled it, but it was no different. Like you said, I guess that's just how it is.
Thanks for your help on such a trivial matter.
Little details like this kind of annoy me.
