after win7 upgrade, can't power up wwan

#1 Post by herm » Sun Nov 22, 2009 12:09 pm

Upgraded to win 7 x64, the wwan (lenovo-branded ATT card and drivers) had been working on vista x64, reinstalled win 7 wwan drivers (7uw706ww.exe), GPS drivers (6jgp34ww.exe), 5.42 access connections (6jc725ww.exe)

Wireless radio management (Fn-F5 & menu activated), clicking to power up wwan radio is ignored, access connections can't connect without wwan card powered up.

Is there some registry setting or other, to change, to allow wwan radio to power up under win 7?

Found hints to get it going with an older driver. Does anybody know how to alert Lenovo to this being all messed up?

I found another email thread suggesting installing older WWAN driver

( http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc ... wc47ww.exe )

which fixed it, but it was a pain, had to uninstall the newer WWAN driver, plug into internet by cable (so nothing running with access connections), install (with the cable-connected internet so it could download driver) and now it is running

I hope somebody can tell lenovo to fix this stuff!!!

(Here is the messages which got me going: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/forums/repl ... ge-id/6684 )

I had the same problem. Support told me to install the old power management driver, power manager and the old Access Connections for Vista which worked.

I have Win7 x64 Pro installed clean.
