LCD's for T510/W501

#1 Post by gaphic2 » Sun Nov 22, 2009 8:26 pm

It looks as though some panels for the new series will be 15.6" 1920x1080 LED Matte.

LG has the LP156WF1-TLF1, which fits that description.

So still no joy for those of us waiting for a HQ notebook screen. However, I'm hopeful for the next gen. After all, am I right in thinking that on the HD side, the top resolution has been reached? Surely the only option after this is to start offering some form of non-TN full HD panels?

Oh yes, with incredible 60:1 contrast ratio :-)

why do companies keep hatin' on my vertical screen real estate? 16:12 (4:3) became 16:10, now shrinking to 16:9.

I'm sorry but I think I've watched all of two or three movies on my laptop, the rest of the time I cherish seeing extra lines of code, or more of a web page without scrolling. I don't see the benefit of 16:9 screens in business laptops. 1080 vertical lines is still more than my current 1050 I suppose, but chopping off the 120 rows of pixels from a WUXGA screen hurts my soul a little.

Now if they could invent a widescreen lappy that can rotate its screen to portrait mode...

Not if you're a programmer and want to use the keyboard at the same time.
