#1 Post by Amel » Mon Nov 23, 2009 9:02 am

Hello,

I have a T41 (Intel 2100), i installed ubuntu, debian, linux mint,.. But i cant connect to my WPA-PSK (TKIP) network. I can see my network but i cant connect! I tryed with wifiradar, wicd, the gnome network,.. I try also with a file wpa_supplicant, i have installed the wpasupplicant too. In Windows works OK.

I select my network, but when i try my password, dont log it !

Excusme for my bad english..

Thanks,

Que tal, Hombre Amel.

On the back of your WL router, you will find a small hole. Push in it with a wire, this will reset it and the password will be gone.

Then, if you need it again protected, start a new setup of a desired PW.

Make sure NetworkManager is running, and then use nm-applet to connect to your networks. You also need to make sure wpa_supplicant is running. It sounds like you've probably done all of this. Check /var/log/messages and /var/log/wpa_supplicant.log for errors.

Rpug, im going to configure it again and paste here errors. All works ok in my T41, the problem is only with WPA-PSK TKIP. Wireless card, sound, buttons,.. all works!

The wpa_supplicant log should be useful then.

Is your SSID being broadcasted? if its not , try changing that. I had issues in Ubuntu similar to what you describe, turns out Ubuntu does not play very nice with some hidden networks. Once i broadcasted my SSID it connected with no problems

having difficulties connecting to WPA2-PSK hidden network, using AR5008 Card opensuse 11.2. Cannot change the authentication scheme as it is controlled by someone else, any ideas on how to solve this.

Tried removing adding the kwallet manager , and knetworkmanager is running. Without using knetworkmanger, going through network settings in yast works with it.

Thanks
