Will a 770Z DC/DC card work in a 770ED?

Well, I think the subject says it all. I seem to have a cascading of effects starting with a fan that does not come on after initial startup (possibly caused by the DC/DC card), which in turn cooked my hard drive (at least that's what I'm guessing). The 770Z card (10L1022) is cheaper than the 77ED card (10L0890) which is why I'm asking.
