Re: Thinkpad X60 question
Here is the parts list for the various planar boards available in X60 series notebooks:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 06.html#23
the 1706-QDG doesn't show up, but you might be able to find out by getting a 'parts list' from the Lenovo warranty page, and then trying to match up the FRU numbers.
(EDIT: I looked harder and it says you have a "Planar Intel Core 2 Duo processor T7200 (2.00GHz) Standard voltage with 2x3, BT" - 42R9873. Since WWAN planars are marked separately, I'd hazard a guess that no, you don't have a 2nd mini-PCIe slot)
A more definitive method would be to try:
a/ take the battery door off, and see if you have a metal SIM card holder next to the two memory slots. If there is one there, then it's very likely that you'd have a second mini-PCIe slot as well.
b/ actually looking for the physical mini-PCIe slot. You need to take the palm rest area off, or at least loosen it enough to take a peek - it's not a hard job, only a few screws more work than taking the keyboard out.
