Hi all,

For those of you who managed to get on hold of win 7 upgrade. Can you advise me what did you use as a prrof of purchase ?

Because if you order machine through web-site there is no proof of order which wil contain model number and the date. E-mails don't have model information, packing also doesnt have relevant details. So what exactly do they want then ?

I don't think the system required any proof of purchase, just SN and information about the purchase date.

My "free" ($17) Win7 upgrade arrived today - it took 5 weeks from the day I placed the order.

I've purchased the Pro upgrade from NewEgg.

I've done fresh installs on my HD at least three times and activated each time with no problems just trying to get things configured to my liking. I suspect I might get dinged the next time but a simple call to Microsoft usually takes care of that.

Unlike previous upgrades there does not seem to be a requirement that an existing windows be on the HDD.
