I don't know, matey. I posted non-political links and then the thread was hijacked by people that use an archaic spelling of sceptic. I have no idea what happened but I am innocent.

A sensible moderator has moved the politics to another thread, thank heavens. Hopefully we can now enjoy all the papers from long-dead scientists including Newton, Franklin, Stephenson and others.

The articles on geoengineering are mind-blowing ... and non-political. I was looking further back in time (at telescopes and steam engines) so thank you for pointing out those gems, dsvochak.

Thanks for the original link. While a lot of what is in the articles are beyond my abilities (e.g. the math in Dirac’s “The Quantum Theory of the Electron”) the developments over time from discovery to general acceptance indeed mind boggling.
