Pictures of my Thinkpads. And a dismanteled 360.

#1 Post by Norway Pad » Mon Nov 30, 2009 12:23 pm

Since we're allowed to post pictures here, I thought I should post some pictures of my Thinkpads.

Below is a picture I took of my desk back home in Norway. I am sorry for the mess, but in the middle of carrying desktop computers and related components in and out, it usually turns out this way.

This picture was actually taken before I bought the T42, so we can see from left to right: The T30, the T43 and then the 360CS. On the chair you can see my parts donator 360.

Both the T30 and the T43 runs Win XP. I installed another 1 Gb RAM module in the T43, bringing it up to a total of 2Gb, and I also run a 16Gb SSD in the Express Card slot for backup. Otherwise I have done no modifications to these two computers. I am however in the process of buying a 100Gb 7200 HDD for the T43.

The 360 on the desk is the laptop I used for connecting to PLC's and operator panels at work for some years, until the AC adapter failed. We decided to ditch it, so I brought both this 360 and another non-working 360 back home. I found an AC adapter online, and the 360 has been working ever since. I boot it up from time to time, just to make sure it gets moved and used. Both batteries have been dead ever since I started using it at work, so the clock and date needs to be adjusted each time it boots up. Otherwise it runs with no problem. Still running Win95. I am not sure what's wrong with the other 360, but the case is a bit smashed so this is just kept as a parts donator. Anybody know if the 360 is a rare thing today?

Just for fun I took it apart and put it back together one day, above you can see all the parts. I didn't do this job as tidy and neatly as if I were to take a working computer apart, but after I was done, I had in fact no parts left over.

The motherboard of the non working 360 above. I still remember the days when the 486 processor was the fastest and best you could buy. :)

Yes, correct language. "Meget hyggelig" to hear some norwegian words. :)

Have you lived there, or are you just familiar with the language? My wife is from the US, so that's why I ended up here in Idaho. I moved here permanently last summer, so now I am waiting for my Green Card.
