new disk for X32

#1 Post by sysbox27 » Tue Dec 01, 2009 6:57 am

Hi,
Can somebody recommend a suitable replacement disk for a X32 and where I can get it from?
I would ideally like something 160gb or larger, and preferably 72000rpm.

I was doing a search and just can't find any such suitable ATA drives. No stock at quite a few sites I went to.

I was hoping to find a hitachi or seagate (as not a WD fan) but right now I would settle for anything if recommended by yourselves.

Best regards,
G.

PS. I am in UK so if you have UK sites in mind then that would be excellent.

One of the fastest 2.5 inch PATA drive is the Western Digital WD3200BEVE. If your space requirement is not so large, the Samsung HM160JC is a 160GB on a single platter. same areal density as the WD but available at somewhat lower cost.

These are 5400rpm drives but they are faster than smaller 7200rpm drives due to high areal density.
