middle mouse button on T23

I'm running XP Pro on my T23. The "middle" mouse button (the bottom one) isn't enabled. Is there some way to do this? I bought it used, so I can't really tell if it's disabled or just broken.

under windows xp, that is by default a scroll button, go to a web page, press and hold then move the trackpoint. you can make it a third button(or other things) under mouse properties in control panel.
