Install XP from a USB flash drive..

#1 Post by SaberX » Tue Dec 01, 2009 4:51 pm

A friend wants me to reinstall Win XP Pro on her Netbook.
I don't have access to any external dvd drive.
I do have the XP cd here with COA and a few usb flash drives.

I did a google search on how to do this and there seems to be lots of different ways to do this.
Anyone know of a site that's explains how to do this and whats the best way to do it?

I've done this one time a few months ago to set up XP on a X31 that didn't have an optical drive. Worked great! IIRC I used WinSetupFromUSB.
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E
