X60 Tablet - Windows 7 (32/64-bit) compatible?

I have a X60 Tablet with Windows XP at the moment, and I'm wondering about the following:

- Does the X60 Tablet support Windows 7? Does it support Windows 7 64-bit?
- If yes, are there full drivers for all of the X60 tablet's components?
- Would there be a noticeable improvement in performance if I make the switch to Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit)?
- Will all of my Windows XP applications work with Windows 7?

If your X60t has a Core 2 Duo then you can do 64 bit. If you've got a Yonah Core Duo, you're out of luck. Honestly I couldn't tell much of a difference between the two.

I would also be curious to know how well the X60T will migrate over from XP to 7 from a driver and performance perspective. I would consider if I can get equivalent or better performance, without any significant driver or functionality problems.

Has anyone been successful wants to share the experience?

Are you sure about this? I've got an X60T with Core 2 Duo, but I recall reading somewhere that even though it might have a compatible processor, there are incompatibilities in the memory/motherboard somewhere -- similar to why it can only make use of 3GB in Vista, regardless of whether the OS can handle 4GB or not.

I've heard this same thing, which is why I didn't go for a 64 bit on my X60t

I thought and I'm by no means an expert, all Merom Core 2 Duos could run 64 bit as they have the 64 bit extensions. I have run 64 bit Vista, Linux and W7 on my R60. I would it assume uses the same chipset and it originally came with a Core Duo, which I upgraded to a Core 2 Duo. I haven't had any trouble running those OSes since upgrading the CPU.

I just did a factory restore XP -> Vista (32-bit) -> 7 (32-bit) marathon upgrade on a new hard drive, and it pretty much works fine. I needed to uninstall and reinstall some of the apps to get good functionality, especially a few ThinkVantage ones like Power Manager.

It'd probably make things easier if you make sure to uninstall the things Lenovo mentions here before trying to upgrade, and then reinstall what you want afterwards:

You can uninstall some of these after upgrading, but it's a pain; for example, Sonic DLA needs you to boot to safe mode and run a MSI enabler called "SafeMSI.exe" to uninstall it in Vista or 7. My current puzzle is figuring out how to upgrade Client Security Solution. :/ ([edit] apparently had to double-click the row instead of clicking the 'uninstall' button??)

My only really major problem is that Rescue and Recovery can't seem to find my old backups (possibly because it's version 4.3 in Windows 7 instead of 4.2ish before).
