PCMCIA & Ethernet Adapter for R51

#1 Post by mvramsubbu » Fri Dec 04, 2009 10:59 pm

Dear all,

I have a Think pad R51 2889 HQ2 Model. I wanted to clean install XP and unfortunately I lost recovery disk. I formatted HDD and installed XP. I'm having trouble installing Ethernet and PCMCIA adapter drivers. I visited Lenovo site and downloaded all available drivers for this bu no use. In lenovo driver site it says driver for PCMCIA adapter is bundled in Operating system.
I wanted to use Linksys adapter for wireless network.
Can anyone help me out in getting drivers for my laptop model?

Thanks in Advance

Is your Linksys adapter part number WPC11? If so, I could e-mail the driver to you.

Linksys driver is not working out for me... though it is the perfect driver for that adapter... I'm having problem with my laptop itself. Lenovo site says PCMCIA adapter is included in OS. If i get driver for my PCMCIA slot it will surely work out.

There are no separate drivers for PCMCIA, that's part of Windows XP, as Lenovo correctly states.
Why don't you use an internal wifi card, such as Intel 2200BG?
Can be mounted under the Keyboard/bezel.
