Hey all, I just got a new T400 from the Lenovo Outlet. It came with Windows Vista, but I am entitled to Windows 7, and will be putting that and Fedora Linux on the machine.
In order to recover the machine, what do I need to do?
I have already made the Product Recover Discs. Is there anything else? What would you folks do?
Thanks

Re: New T400 Data Retention
That should be sufficient. However, it was my experience once that the DVD media was spoil, so I didn't discover it till the next time I tried to reset my laptop. With today's burner, maybe there would have some sort of verification after burning so there is less chance of error.whizkid wrote:Hey all, I just got a new T400 from the Lenovo Outlet. Anyway, being careful, I would do a system restore just by pressing the blue button. After completion, i would burn a second set of DVD and then find an external harddisk and CLONE my lenovo harddisk.
So now I have 3 recovery source.
Do what is important, not what is urgent
Re: New T400 Data Retention
Excellent ideas. Thanks!
The media creation software does include a verification, so I'm pretty confident the media are good... for now. Making another set is a good idea, and perhaps I will even try to use a set to ensure it is good.
