Re: Can't Connect to Clear with Intel 5350 WiMAX Link
Typically, unless one (the "client") has a static IP address, when one connects to a network, the network's DHCP Server assigns the "client" an IP address for the duration of the session. Absent a valid IP address on the target network, there is no way for the "client" to communicate through that network to the rest of the world, i.e., the Internet or the intranet on that network.
That ClearWire is not assigning you an IP address can be due to multiple factors:
-- Your device is not properly "authorized" on their network,
-- You are not "communicating" with them for whatever reason, e.g., no signal,
-- Their DHCP Server is down.
If you have signal and if their system is functional, then the likely situation is that your device is not properly authorized for their network and authentication is failing. [Sometimes authentication failure is denoted explicitly, and sometimes it is implicit in the inability to receive an IP address from the DHCP Server. I don't know how ClearWire "reports" the failure to authenticate.]
One way or another, the solution will reside with how your are "seen" by ClearWire. Given that your connection parameters are correct, I do not think you can resolve the issue without speaking with them and determining what they are "seeing" as you try to connect.

Thanks EOMtp. Apparently the MAC of the card is blacklisted by Clearwire, so you were spot on. So much for the cards on eBay not being engineering samples. Oh well, I just ordered a real one from ibm for $138.
