WTB: T60 SXGA aftermarket LCD screen EEPROM reprogramming

#1 Post by briansmith » Fri Dec 11, 2009 10:37 am

I bought a SXGA screen off of EBay a long time ago. However, I guess the EEPROM in the LCD needs to be reprogrammed to include the Lenovo-specific information. I have seen other threads here about reprogramming the EEPROM, but I couldn't get Powerstrip to do it, and I don't think I can reliably build the reprogramming circuit to do it myself.

If I put in my old screen (with a non-working backlight), hibernate, swap in the new screen, and then wake up, the screen works perfectly fine, until I restart.

When I start up with the new screen, the screen colors become yellowish and it seems to think that it is a XGA (not SXGA) screen, so it only draws part of the image on part of the screen. Plus, there's lots of flicker.

Thank you,
Brian

Check in the BIOS under LCD for a HV expansion option and tick that, if needed.
What are the exact make/model numbers of the old and new screen?
