Upgrading Windows 7 RC to Full Version

#1 Post by eskimochaos2 » Sat Dec 19, 2009 8:39 am

I have the Windows 7 RC Ultimate edition 64bit on my T61p. I have the ability to get 64bit professional with my .edu email address for $30. Is there anyway to save exactly what I have and "transfer" it over to the new copy or am I going to do a fresh install?

Is it as simple as sticking in the disk, activating a real COA or is this going to be a PITA?

Thanks in advance.

OK, I see it wants me to download an ISO of ultimate, modify it, and install it from a virtual drive; however, I only have access to professional. When entering the key, will the install automatically install the professional version?

Thanks again!

You can't downgrade from Ultimate to Pro anyways so just do a clean install.
