Anyone ever seen this graphics failure?

#1 Post by LymanSS » Sun Dec 20, 2009 12:03 pm

Every once in a while my T500's screen will get all messed up. It's hard to describe so I'm attaching a picture. It's as though it's broken up into a bunch of 10x10 pixel blocks which start randomly re-arranging themselves. Sometimes it goes away if I switch to a new window. Other times it requires a reboot. I'm trying to determine if this is a hardware problem that requires warranty service, of it's something that can be fixed with driver update or other software fix. Any advice would be appreciated.

Admin edit: Please keep inline images to < 50KB and when you do, add a note in your initial subject line saying "PIC". Some people here still are on dialup or access the forum via PDAs, cell phones and the like. Thanks!

Fire up Lenovo System toolbox and run the video diagnostics.

Yikes! Is it still under warranty? If you have a switchable model try setting it to discrete or integrated in bios.
