T43 won't power on
T43 won't power on
I woke up this morning to notice that my computer had turned off during the night. I pushed the power button in an attempt to turn it on and nothing happens. The battery shaped light on the front lights up when it's plugged in and flickers a little when you push the power button, but that's it. It makes no noise and doesn't seem to make any attempt to start up. I tried removing the battery but leaving it plugged in, nothing happens. I tried unplugging it and leaving the battery in, nothing.
I have been having some problems with it lately. It's over four years old, so I'm not surprised. It's had some problems reading CDs, but since it worked occasionally, I assumed it was the discs. The touchpad has stopped working a few times too, but it's always fixed itself.

Re: T43 won't power on
Welcome to the forum!
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Try this:
Remove the battery, hard and media drives, remove the AC adapter. Press the "power" button ten times in a row, holding it down for ten seconds each time, and thirty seconds the last time around.
Plug the adapter (but nothing else) in and try to power on.
Good luck.

Re: T43 won't power on
Thanks for the welcome and the advice!
Sadly, it does nothing to help my problem. Still won't turn on.

Re: T43 won't power on
I imagine it's time to start looking for a new motherboard, or a new laptop altogether, I'm sorry to say.
