Any advantage going from an X40 to X41?
I've had an X40 for over a year and love the form but would love more speed. Would love to have an X60s but the $$ aren't there unless I sell it first and I need it. I can get a X41 w/o hard drive for a little over $100. The X40 is a 1.2 with 1.5 meg of RAM. The X41 would be a 1.5. Worth the trouble?
Or should I get an SSD? 32 gig would work within the budget

Other than the ability to go to 2GB DDR2 RAM, there are not huge differences between X40 and X41. I actually have both a very low power ULV Banias (2371-4ZM) and a Dothan (2371-LCU) X40. I would go for the SSD.

you will loose autonomy wit X41, as it consume a lot more (2W) than X40 (because of the chipset)

The defining difference between the two is the fingerprint reader capability and that the BIOS will reload Computrace/Lojack tracing software if it gets deleted somehow.

The Intel chipsets are also different: Intel 900 in the X41 against Intel 855 in the X40 if I recall correctly. I don't think performance wise will be a big difference though. Unless you want to install Win7.
I personally would go either for a X60 or for an SSD. But I have to ask this question: why an SSD?
There are some new HDs that may be cheaper and offer more storage space.
