RunDLL Error on Startup

#1 Post by Marked_0ne » Tue Dec 22, 2009 6:54 am

I have a nearly clean install (custom install of Windows 7 64 bit) and just started getting this error message on startup. I can close out of it and haven't had any system problems, but it is becoming annoying

I tracked down the file and it's in this location:

So I can find the file, I tried deleting it.. nothing will stop the error message from coming up. A google search provided no results for this specific file, which is confusing.. I have antivirus software and haven't been any dubious places to get spyware, so I highly doubt this is any sort of spyware related issue. Let me know if otherwise..

Does anyone recognize this file, error message, or situation? What can I do to make the startup error message go away

Thanks,
Mitchell

That's a rare one. I can't find out anything about it.

See the following;

You should be able to delete that one entry when you find it in the registry. Not sure what any consequences might be.

While nothing pops up for “winubQ32.rom” winubG32.rom is a file associated with the Vundo Trojan. It appears cleaning the Vundo Trojan may be somewhat complicated.

I have exactly the same problem, just a week or two after having bought a computer with the Windows 7 program installed. I have tried removing the file with the Vundo Troja Removal Tool software, without success. I hope we can find a solution or survive with it.
Best,
Jorge
