Thinkpad Icons

#1 Post by Sasha » Sat Feb 19, 2005 1:11 pm

I am looking for some cool Thinkpad Icons with transparent backgrounds to replace the current "My Computer" icons, something in the line of the one Bill has on this forums. I have searhced the web but could not find any suitable ones....

Does anyone here has Thinkpad icons or links to where I can find some?

TIA

The Theme contains a set of icons, did you look through the unpacked directory?

Yep!! I have those icons. What I want is an icon which is more like the photograph Bill has on the forum website (top left corner with the text thinkpads.com forum)...something which is more realistic than a clip-art type icon.

Like a icon sized photgraph of a ThinkPad......

Hi Bill

I am not sure about the pixel size. I assume that the standard ones are 48x48, right? If not, any available size would do....I wouldn't mind a bigger one!!

I guess that the ThinkPad bug has REALLY bit me (a first time IBMer)..want nothing but the best on it.....

And my thanks for this WONDERFUL forum.....

Sorry for digging up an old thread ;)

After searching the net for Thinkpad icons to no avail, I have decided to make them myself

Anyway, due to limitations of XP, they can only be shown 48x48 pixels on the desktop with "Use Large Icons" activated.

Using them in full resolution (128x128 pixels) is also possible with a Registry Tweak. If you want to know how, connect to http://interfacelift.com/icons-mac/arti ... nxp128.php

Due to their small sizes, they don't look any different from each other, but I think it's better than nothing 8)

OK, 'nuff with talk, here you go:

File Name: Thinkpad Icons.rar

Did you search the forums as well? I made some wallpapers and icons for Thinkpads in this thread.

The latest can be found here as Icon_Pack V1_0.rar.

Give me a little time and I will make and condense more of the icons I have (T4X Series, X4X Series, 600s, R Series, etc) and then post them as well. Those are in PNG format, but there are several converters that will convert them into ICO format if one so chooses and they are high dpi with initial resolutions generally above 128x128. :)

Got it; here is a link to them :D

Ooh, cool. I've really searched, but somehow that thread didn't pop up.

Cool images. I'm converting them into .ico as I type :)
