Hard disk for ThinkPad G40 needed

My old G40 IBM ThinkPad hard disk is dead. It's making clicking noises and it's not booting.
I would like to know if there what drives are compatible with one for G40.
Maybe someone know good place to buy used one

Older laptops use PATA/IDE drives. Place a wanted to buy notice in the Marketplace here.

i THINK that the G40 was the desktop replacement..
a really big thinkpad..
i would guess that it will use most any PATA IDE hard drive..

it would help to know what the size is of the existing hard drive..
you might also consider making a system backup or "clone", before the existing drive crashes, that you can use to restore to the new drive..

Yes, as the others have said, the G40 uses a standard laptop 2.5" 9.5mm PATA/IDE hard disk drive. The forum's Market Place is a good place to find used drives, and sometimes new ones. Or try your favorite computer store in Ontario. An online favorite in the states is newegg.com.
