GMA 900 power savings (x41)?

#1 Post by jiopsi » Wed Dec 30, 2009 1:36 am

The power savings options are grayed in GMA options? Is this normal and does some drivers enable the use of these?

Yes, installed it, but the options are still grayed, and the manager doesn't have GPU power management option. Can you access GPU power management?

I just checked the Intel display driver panel on the Windows 7 X41T, all the power related options are greyed out as well.

Ok, dug a little deeper. GMA900 Power Savings Technology isn't about reducing voltage of the GPU, but reducing picture quality by lowering contrast etc. http://www.istartedsomething.com/200907 ... g-feature/

So there isn't really a usable benefit in using it anyway.
