Intel P4-M chip and The Intel® Application Accelerator
Intel P4-M chip and The Intel® Application Accelerator
Mindful of many posts NOT to stray from IBM drivers .. I have come upon an INTEL driver that promises better performance:
"The Intel® Application Accelerator enables faster delivery of data from the hard drive to the processor and other system level hardware".
Is this a familiar item to anyone?
I have a couple of A31p models .. and wonder if this driver might be beneficial to my systems' performance. Or is it trouble?

I have used it for my A31p and it doesn't cause me any problems. Just be certain you get the right version for your chip set. I know it is *NOT* the most recent version.

I installed it along time ago and I can't really remember but the folks at extremetech.com seem to like it.

Intel for A31P
Hello,
I did have some annoying experience:
I 'ld join dfumento in his comment not (!) to use the latest version. And I 'ld add not (!) to use it with Windows XP, as XP incorporates adequate drivers. Using it under XP does produce blue screens...

Friedrich-Eugen,
thanks for the report on your experience. It makes sense to me. I haven't installed it .. and will flush the files I downloaded.
Now if I can only discover why my Norton Ghost 2002 does not complete I sleep a few more hours tonight. I worked flawlessly until after I upgraded my Norton AntiVirus to 2005.

... norton ghost 2002 and norton 2005
Hello,
Frank,
I doubt that these two will cooperate smoothly ... These Versions rely on different versions of shared drivers, I suppose. If so, You 'll not live up to see them harmonize... Update Ghost (or uninstall and use a different software (driveImage, Acronis))
Sorry,
