"Flick" interface in Win7 doesn't seem sufficient

#1 Post by scolestock » Wed Dec 30, 2009 11:42 pm

How do folks manage pageup/pagedown when in tablet mode on an x200?
The "flick" interface that Win7 provides doesn't seem to work in all programs, and seems finicky even when it does.
Are there other ways of dealing with this?

Thanks!

Realized after I posted that the tablet buttons can be set up for scroll up/down or page up/down.

I still seems like scrolling should be a more natural activity - the "flick" gesture would be nice if it worked across all applications.

For some reason those snazzy interfaces hardly get used by me these days. They seem full of promise and I'm sure suit some peoples needs. I use them maybe about 1-5% of the time. Mainly for showing off :P or just curiosity.

Yes, I still operate my new Windows 7 Pro machine (T61p) in classic mode and even worked out a standard flyout menu capability to give me the best of both worlds (everything prior to Windows 7; and Window 7 and newer)

I'm just looking for a good way to scroll through longer documents when in tablet orientation (keyboard unavailable) besides having to grab on to the scroll bar. Buttons work, I guess. Just seems like it should have been given more thought by Microsoft/Lenovo.
