Hello,
I just bought a displayport cable in order to connect my NEC EA231WMi to my lenovo X200. Using a displayport cable from the ultrabase to the monitor, not using DP->DVI or DP->hdmi converters.
The laptop is running Windows 7 with all updates, graphics drivers are the latest from Lenovo.
During boot it crashes with a bluescreen.
It boots OK in safe mode, using the display port as the display.
Sounds like a driver and/or windows 7 issue.
Is anyone else using the display port to connect a display port monitor via a plain display port cable (no adapters)?

X200 ultrabase + display port cable = bluescreen
Re: X200 ultrabase + display port cable = bluescreen
Fixed.
I installed the "mobile series 4" or something display driver from intel.com instead of using lenovo/windows drivers. Connected the display via DP cable, and now it works. Had to reduce number of colors to 16bit on the laptop display, otherwise the colours were messed up and the image was very pixelated. Something also happened to my theme/aero settings but I don't care as long as I can use the displayport digital interface instead of VGA

Re: X200 ultrabase + display port cable = bluescreen
Actually, it works even better with the microsoft driver.
With the intel driver I had some distortion of the image ("snow"/stripes appearing around high contrast parts of the screen).
I first tried re-installing lenovo drivers, that worked, but I got a bluescreen as soon as I connected the monitor via the display port.
I then "uninstalled" the display adapter in the device manager (selected the "delete driver files" option) and rebooted.
Windows found a "new" device, installed the software automatically, and rebooted.
Now it seems to work just fine.
