RealPlayer & the annoying "Real Message Centre"

#1 Post by A31 » Sun Jan 03, 2010 4:17 am

Does anybody on here have RealPlayer free?
When I got the latest RealPlayer, RealPlayer SP, I thought that the Message Centre had finally disappeared (after having to live through it popping up EVERYDAY). But the other week, the annoying message centre came back with "messages" that are just really random adverts and the latest "celebrity news". Is there a way to turn off message centre? As it's really starting to annoy me now!

The only reason why I have RealPlayer anyway is becuase I like to download videos off YouTube with it, if it wasn't for that, then RealPlayer wouldn't be on my computer. If you're looking for an alternative for Media Player, I suggest you go for VideoLAN VLC Media Player 1.0.3 (the latest stable release) as that is better than Media Player and definitely better than RealPlayer SP.

Dump RP and do a Google with "youtube downloader". Tons available for free.

Go into the settings and you can tell the message center not to check for updates.
