I have an old T40 which has served me well, but now i want to use it to play movies on the TV for the kids.
As I understand it (finally), the secondary (TV) display should be set to "Clone" rather than "Extend Desktop". But then I should be able to select for "Overlay" either "Standard" or "Theater", which is what I want. However, I don't seem to be able to get it into "Theater" mode -- the controls are not enabled. I've downloaded the latest drivers, of course.
Any ideas if I'm taking the right approach? Does the ATI Radeon card with the T40 not support the overlay/theater mode? That would be strange. Any help appreciated.
Paul

Watch this thread for a possible solution, especially the last post by GomJabbar. This worked for me on a T41!
