X24 dies if you unplug it.

#1 Post by billp117 » Sun Jan 03, 2010 10:46 pm

When running and you unplug the ac adapter...it dies. Close the lid and let it go into standyby, then unplug, it will resume on the battery just fine.

The battery is fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Bill

My T23 had a similar problem, and after changing the keyboard, I stumbled upon what may be the problem. The power jack on a t23 has a screw that tightens it into the mobo. as far as I can tell, a wire that comes off that power jack supplies power to the mobo. However, there are pins that come off the bottom of the power jack that also go into the mobo. After tightening down that screw, therefore making sure those pins were inserted fully into the board, my battery would again hold charge and the computer would not die when unplugged. Hope that helps..
