plz plz help me to find windows xp

I have R61i machine with 3 Dics (& Vista preloaded)
1. R&R (rescue recovery)
2. additional applications (something)
3. Win Xp sp2

I am not able to convert it in xp. 5 times i tried to do that but still it takes vista.

This comes with a booklet Conversion kit Windows XP but it cannot help me. book says program ask for CD but there is no any prompt,
it say when you put CD, the message come for wait 20 minute for conversion.

but it cannot. give me the step by step guide to convert the Vista to windows XP (I hate Vista)


please please help me

Since you have your Vista rescue CDs, you can wipe Vista from the hard disk.
Insert the XP CD and boot from it (use F12 to select where to boot from). Let XP delete any partitions it finds.
Then create a new partition for XP and continue installing.

don't blame you for not wating Vista on your laptop! Did it go ok?

I got the xp now. but the way is different as the booklet says.
First of all when I format the machine with another CD (not lenovo's) but there is a problem with HDD. so I change the setting from BIOS HDD setting should be compatible.
then I format with normal XP CD because here it doesn't take the boot with lenovo's CD.
after I finish install the XP I follow the conversion procedure as booklet.
found two mistake there.
1. do not come any full restore window as the booklet says
2. where is the 20 second window? nothingg

I make restore from left top link of Recovery program then as usual. all the format going on good.
it takes 3 hours and after that all driver he got with all applications but Audio, Modem, and Ethernet not found even I search in CD's and C:/Driver folder.

but its ruining XP now its good luck to me.

Install and run System Update. This will automatically find and install your missing drivers.

One more Question : Why the CD (DVD) ROM comes like a USB in taskbar i.e


first when I was use the Vista, thought it will be gone if I put XP but doesn't.
how can I fix it???
its most important otherwise anybody can remove easily.

That's part of the system, after all the CD drive is hot-swappable.
Just don't let anybody else use your laptop, or put a password in the screensaver when you have to leave the laptop alone.

That IS normal on any TP running Windows.
