Static Electricity and My X40

#1 Post by kadf88 » Sun Feb 20, 2005 8:12 pm

I just got a new laptop bag and when I got it, I put my X40 in it to see if it would fit and i also walked around with it a bit. I guess since it was new there was still some static on the bag and i think I built up some static on it by walking around and stuff, anyway, when i when to touch the bag I got a little static shock... will this effect my laptop?? it seems to be working fine afterwords, but I'm wondering, does IBM design their computers with static electricity in mind? like will the case absorb any electric shock??
thanks

I wouldn't worry too much about that, I've shocked mine often on the keyboard, although now, just to be sure, I touch the screen as I sit behind it, to remove any static electricity I may have.
