Was just working on my X60s when all of a sudden the LCD just turned off. First I thought that it might be a software problem or something so I rebooted. I would see the Thinkpad logo for a split second then it would disappear. On closer inspection in a lighted room, I could see everything on screen but its like its been put on permanent dim.
Is this a backlight problem or a inverter problem? Hoping its an inverter problem. Any thoughts on the matter would be helpful.
Thanks
X60s lcd problem: Backlight or Inverter?
Re: X60s lcd problem: Backlight or Inverter?
Chances are that it's a backlight problem, but you can try an inverter first. I just replaced an LCD on a Z61T with the exact same symptom...and it was definitely a backlight failure.
