Unzip it and then go into device manager and do a manual update of the video driver. Point the driver update to the un-zipped folder called ati_7500, which will be a sub-folder of ati_7500 (harryc)

Manged to do that.
But my transparency effect is not working more than half the time.
ON XP(SP3) + vs2008(samehardware) it was working fine. All that i do is display a tiny image with transparency effect so that the text matter is visible below the animal image.

If this is something that is important to you then I recommend using XP SP3. There is no official W7 driver for the older ATI 7500 GPU.

Hi Harry,

Thanks for your effort in creating a driver :)

It works almost 100% good.

Yes almost, i have a small problem. The problem is that when i want to watch a YouTube video fullscreen, the screen is totally garbled with weird patterns.

This is a screenshot of the weird patterns: http://xs.to/image-4DC5_4B6EB6EF.jpg

I have this problem with Chrome, and Internet Explorer. I already installed the latest Flash player, and the problem still occurs, so i think the problem is in the 7500 driver for Win7.

How can i fix this issue? :|

LOL...you give me much more credit than I deserve. I did not create any drivers. I simply put up a link to it at technet. :-).

I had the same problem with the garbled screen, I installed the beta flash player, 10.1 Beta 3 and the problem went away.

This T41 still has some life in it yet :)

Hello there,.

Have you checked compatibility?
Just an FYI for you.

It is always best to check with the software manufacturer FIRST. They will tell you if they have tested the product and the version, as well as whether or not it will work with Windows 7.
Check out the Windows 7 Compatibility site: (There you will find out about hardware and software compatibilty.)
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compat ... fault.aspx
There is a pulldown from which you can choose "hardware" and "software".

There are also some great articles, instructional videos and such to help with your Windows 7 at our Springboard site:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/default.aspx

In any event a lot of the times, Vista drivers will work in lieu of Windows 7 drivers, however, it's not 100%!

As stated previously, it's best to have the Windows 7 certified drivers installed.

Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here http://tinyurl.com/9fhdl5 . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to check the threads available there for additional assitance and support.

Thanks again,
John M.
