X41 Temperatures

#1 Post by jiopsi » Sat Jan 09, 2010 6:45 am

What temperatures are people having with X41? I have about 53c @ 6x 0.700V and original fan settings.

I did apply Arctic Silver 5 to both heatsinks, CPU and the one I suspect to be southbridge? I didn't notice any significant changes, well not as significant that I noticed with my T40. So did I apply it wrong or too much or etc. What temps are people having with AS5?
T40 -> T40 -> T40 -> T41 -> X40 -> X41 -> T40 -> X60 -> X30 -> R40 -> T61

With a custom TPfancontrol profile, and the fan almost always on low i was averaging 45*c idle, and about 55*c load. (x41-t, undervolted).

I did niotice, after applying and curing the AS5 that my temps dropped 2*c, but more importantly the laptop stayed under 39*c for around 30mins of typing in microsoft word. And in general took a bit longer to heatup and was quicker to cool down. The X41's heatsink isnt the best design (the fan is surrounded by a metal housing connected to a heatpipe).
