What is best monitor for 1440 x 900?

Just got a T400s with 1440 x 900 screen. I need to get a desktop monitor for my home office. What do people recommend in terms of taking advantage of the video capability of this machine? I currently have an old 17" used in 1280 x 1024 with a T43; so any upgrade is an improvement! Suggestions on specs and/or Mfr would be welcomed. I can't get too large, I don't have a great deal of space.
