Hi all,
I seem to have bricked my Thinkpad T42. I made a few changes in the BIOS, and saved the settings. Now when I turn it on, all I get is the 1-3-3-1 beep.
I remember removing the supervisor password, and changing the default display to the internal LCD, maybe one or two others.
Is there anyway to force a BIOS clear? (I have already tried pulling the CMOS battery for 30 minutes or so.)
Dead Thinkpad T42
Re: Dead Thinkpad T42
Reseat or replace your RAM. Try one module at a time in each slot to isolate component failures.
Re: Dead Thinkpad T42
Well, it turned out the ram was bad. The T42 booted with different ram, and the old ram kept another machine from booting. Weird that it failed during a reboot, I was sure that something had happened to the planar. Now to ebay to buy new ram.
Re: Dead Thinkpad T42
If it smells like RAM, sounds like RAM, tastes like RAM...
