Looking for: PC Card cage for old TPs - FRU 87G9549

#1 Post by Edward Mendelson » Tue Jan 12, 2010 10:17 am

I just noticed that only one PC Card slot in my TP701C was usable - pins were broken off in the second slot. It seems that all the ancient models of the 701/750/760/3xx era used the same PC Card assembly FRU - 87G9549. Does anyone have one that you're willing to dispose off at a low cost and send to a New York address?

Thanks!

Edward

If you are referring to the old side-by-side style, I have a 700 base in my spare parts bin.

Thanks - but actually this is a stacked-slot unit - not side-by-side!

Thanks for those links - they bring back memories. My first ThinkPad was a used 750, which I used for checking mail while traveling. I seem to remember that it took so much time for the internal modem to connect to Compuserve that I sometimes had to check out of the hotel before I could read my mail.
