X200 display lag after standby or lid close

#1 Post by scolestock » Tue Jan 12, 2010 1:22 pm

I had thought this problem was limited to standby - but I now realize it happens anytime I close the lid on my x200 (With Win7 x64).

When you re-open the lid, the display doesn't just pop back on - it goes through convulsions similar to what would happen if you went into tablet mode (changed orientation) or changed screen resolution. Windows appear to be re-adjusting, CPU spikes for a second, etc.

Has anyone else seen this and resolved it? It delays you from just using the machine right away after opening the lid, so I'm finding it pretty annoying.

Thanks!

Scott

While I wish I had a solution, I can only contribute to the problem. When I put into standby and open again, the computer works for a few seconds and then freezes, nothing but a hard restart will solve issue. This doesn't happen all of the time, but it has happened more than a laptop less than 60 days old should.
I also have Win7 x64bit (I wonder if 64 bit has anything to do with issues?)

I wound up solving this with a from-scratch install of Win7 + basic Lenovo stuff. Unbelievable difference - the machine runs much better in every respect.
