Replace fan T42 (part number)

Hello everyone

I need to be helped.

I would replace the fan on my T42 (2374 VMN) but I can not understand what is the part number .
Someone knows it?

Since your machine had the basic 32MB ATI GPU motherboard, any T40/T41/T42/T43 fan will work just fine. You have the "short" fan, which only covers the CPU. You can replace it with either the "short" or "long" fan, which covers the CPU and GPU. Some people feel the "long" fan is superior for all applications, but it certainly is not required - your original "short" fan probably lasted 3 years or so.

There were several fan part numbers, but any working T4x fan will be fine. (Ensure there is a thin layer of thermal grease between the CPU and fan when reinstalling the new fan.)

P.S. I'm not sure if you're seeing a "fan error" at boot up or if your fan is loud, but please note that upon rare occasions, a "fan error" equals a bad motherboard.
