Strange New LENOVO related process - DOZESVC.exe

#1 Post by fingle85 » Fri Jan 15, 2010 1:43 pm

I discovered a process called "DOZESVC.EXE" running on the task manager the other day. After doing some poking around my computer I discovered its a Thinkpad Utility in C:\Program Files\ThinkPad\Utilities. Unfortunately Googling doesn't turn up anything. It was created very recently (1/4) when I did a pretty big update on my computer. Does anyone know what this program is? Can I disable it? If so, how do I go about doing that.

Thanks so much!

PS. I have a Thinkpad Z60m and I'm running XP

A quick search in Google for DOZESVC.exe gave a lot of results. Some suggest it might be malware, others suggest it is valid.

If it were me I would search for the program and then do a right-click and look at properties. This will often tell you where it comes from, who supplied it, etc.

You will also have the opportunity to scan it with anti-virus software.
