Anyone order a T410 yet?

#1 Post by devilsrejection » Fri Jan 15, 2010 2:03 pm

I'm waiting until the first reviews hit the net before buying. A lot has changed. New keyboard, new processor, everything!

man, i understand that lenovo customer service is busy now with the introduction of the new lines...but 31 min. of waiting to find out if my order had been processed is a little ridiculous. all of the posts that i've read with regard to their poor CS are starting to ring a little louder in my head...but...it should be shipping in 11 days! i'm geeked up and never thought a piece of electronics could get me so obsessed and enthused...what happened to me? :)

Just got off the phone with CSR. I ordered Sat. Jan. 16. My estimated ship date is Feb. 1, and it should take 5-7 business days from there. So I'm looking at 2nd week of Feb for a Canadian destination.

Junkeeroo, thanks for the heads up on the deal. I just ordered my new T410 about 30 seconds ago. The configuration is as follows:

1
2516CTO ThinkPad T410 - 1 Year Depot Warranty
Ships within 10 bus. days**
Intel Core i7-620M Processor (2.66GHz 3MBL3 1066MHz)
Genuine Windows 7 Professional 64
14.1" WXGA+ LED
nVidia SG 256MB, AMT
4 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 (2 DIMM)
UltraNav with FPR
500GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm
DVD Recordable, Ultrabay Slim
9cell, LI Battery TWSL
Integrated Bluetooth PAN 2
Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300
No WWAN support
1 Year Depot/Express Warranty

It came to 1353.12 CAD, which is a fantastic price for such a loaded system I think. And now I wait with eager anticipation.

Is the led screen glossy ? I think my t510 shipped, got a notice today but the status online is unchanged, original notice was 2/16. The GF wants a new notebook so I'm looking at the t410..

T410 screen is mate ( or anti-glare as mentioned in tabook ). I do notice T400 LED WXGA+ screen is rated at 250 nits, where as same size LED on T410 is only rated at 220 nits. Wonder how big of a difference in real life.

I just ordered a T410 to replace my third failed Dell D series. I already have the Ideapad Y series that I ordered for a family member. It is very nice and will suit her well but really isn't my style. I look forward to a better experience than I have had with Dell, and prior to them Gateway.

It's been in Anchorage for the last two days, according to the tracking data.

I ordered two T410s' on 1/7. Expected ship date was 1/19 and is now 2/12. The order status hasn't changed, my credit card hasn't been billed, and a quick call to Lenovo reveals that my order has "hanged." Something about being rejected by the factory and escalated to the executive level... Patience is a virtue...

Guys, just make sure you write some reviews and maybe even take some photos when you get your machines.

The community will be very thankful.

Seeing as how I am a total Thinkpad newb, not sure I will be of much use with regard to review, but photos will be doable.

I like the Ideapad Y450, for what it's worth. It really isn't my style but it seems well constructed and very, ummm, fashionable. The fit and finish are somewhat better than the Dells I am accustomed to. Good, solid MM box. Love the LED screen and the WLAN connectivity is yards better than the Dell. I was disappointed with the volume of bloatware, but that is unavoidable in this day and age.

Right now there are no reviews so you don't have much competition ;). Just tell us about your impressions, build quality, display quality and so on. It will be very helpful.

Yes, and do take some photos :)

My T410 shipped today!

I ordered it on 1/19 and it shipped on 1/27...ahead of the scheduled ship date of 2/2. Not too bad!

if anyone's looking for first glance test results on the new t410, there are two made here:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=454394

one in of a disrete model, the other is of the integrated one.

personally, when comaring the results, i see a minor performance delta in favour of th discrete one.

and just for kicks, http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeF ... 949.0.html

It's impressive the GMA is on par with ION/macbook pro.
But the 3100M is, much faster, by 3dmark anyway.

Can't wait to see realistic gaming performance though
