Experience with wireless WAN PC cards?

#1 Post by t41user » Wed Jun 09, 2004 4:50 pm

Does anyone have any experience using any wireless WAN PC cards with a T4x series in the United States (or elsewhere)? I see that the ibm website sells the Sony Ericsson GC82, which seems to have the best comparative performance when on an Edge network. I see the ibm website also sells Sierra Wireless AirCards (the 710 and 750) that perform at slower GSM and GPRS speeds. Can anyone share any experiences with or information about the use of any wireless WAN PC cards such as these?

Im in the UK so dont have Edge. I have used GPRS (and UTMS cards but not able to test function at the time) and like the Sony Ericsson ones - I dunno about Sierra as ive never tried one but I would suggest avoiding Nokia ones as they always seem to be a pain
